  • Lectures: 8 weekends Saturday and Sunday 8.30am – 4pm

MELBOURNE: Pilates Mat Level 1 teacher training  – Weekends

  • Intensive: 17th March-7th April (3 weeks)
  • Weekends: 19th August- 8th October (8 weekends) Saturday- Sunday (Includes 90 minute class with Cara)
  • Time: 8am-4pm
  • Where: Daily Dose Studio- 2 Williams st Balaclava

Participation: 40 scheduled classes (included in course cost)

Observation: 6 classes

Group Pilates Training

  • Develop a broad knowledge of pilates exercises and adjustments
  • Instruct core, back, legs, buttocks, arm strengthening exercises
  • Apply safe sequencing, teaching method, adjustments and assists for core, back, legs, buttocks, arm strengthening exercises
  • Instruct and monitor pilates programs
  • Plan and deliver group pilates sessions
  • Deliver approved community pilates programs

Anatomy and Physiology

  • Apply anatomy and physiology principles in a pilates context

Exercise Programming

  • Plan and deliver pilates programs
  • Plan and deliver an endurance athlete pilates program
  • Undertake long term pilates programming
  • Apply exercise science principles to planning pilates exercise
  • Plan and deliver personal pilates training

Special Populations

  • Develop and apply an awareness of specific populations to pilates delivery
  • Plan and deliver pilates to older clients with managed conditions
  • Work collaboratively with medical and allied health professionals
  • Interact effectively with children
  • Plan and deliver exercise to apparently healthy children and adolescents

Equipment use 

  • Maintain pilates equipment for activities

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)

  • Follow occupational health and safety policies
  • Undertake risk analysis of activities
  • Establish legal and risk management requirements of small business

Client Screening

  • Provide pilates orientation and health screening
  • Undertake client health assessment
  • Apply motivational psychology to provide guidance on exercise behaviour and change to meet health and wellness goals
  • Undertake appraisals of functional movement

  • Market small pilates business
  • Undertake small pilates business planning
  • Plan a home-based pilates business
  • Plan small pilates business finances


  • Provide healthy eating information to clients in accordance with recommended guidelines
