My life has been a journey along many diverse paths, foremost, I am mum to two gorgeous girls.

When I first arrived in Australia from the UK, I had very little interest in taking responsibility for my health and spiritual wellbeing. I led a hedonistic lifestyle for many years and thought I was perfectly happy that way.

A serious of major back injuries resulted in two rounds of surgery and led me to reflect on my mind and body, the connections between the two and the positive impact of a holistic lifestyle.

As a personal trainer I was used to flogging myself at the gym and the running track, completing many Half Marathons plus weight training up to 6 times per week! I was good at burying my head in the sand and even managed to train through a stress fracture!

A couple of my friends are amazing yoga teachers and both had repeatedly and gently suggested I shift my focus to yoga. Although I had attended yoga classes on and off for a few years, I was never able to fully shift my commitment to yoga.

Arriving on the Gold Coast sore, stiff and carrying many injuries, I used this change of scene as the catalyst to start listening to my mind and body.

I completed my yoga teacher training with Michelle at Essence of Living in 2010 and I can honestly say it has been life changing. My entire perspective on my lifestyle, health and relationships and even motherhood is different!

I find yoga extremely challenging and the style which Michelle teaches is perfect for me as an athletic person!

In my own classes I strive to challenge my pupils to truly let go and commit to the moment allowing themselves to experience the transformative power of yoga. My style is fast flowing, but steady, building heat and encouraging bodies and minds to be fully open!

My classes are always infused with some yoga philosophy and teachings, I love making these relevant to our lifestyle today in 21st Century and encourage my students to always take their yoga off the mat!

As a mum I’m passionate about the benefits of yoga for children of all ages, even more so in today’s society when many kids have lost that connection to their bodies and minds! My kids classes include lots of games as well as adaptations of many yoga poses I teach adults, especially Sun Salutations which can be heaps of fun!

I love that yoga is always a constant and always a journey. It’s a guiding path to allow you to follow life’s dreams and challenges whilst being the best you! I always hope to share this gift with my students, friends & family.
