After a successful career in dance, Tracey is now bringing her love for movement, expression, health and pursuit of self-awareness to the field of Yoga. From an early age my passion and love for dance emerged, begging my parents to let me go to ballet classes at the age of four. My love for dance and my dedication to this art allowed me to follow my dreams of being a professional dancer. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to realise these dreams – on the stage of the Moulin Rouge, Paris; as lead dancer and dance captain in the Monte Carlo Cabaret, Monaco; and exploring the world as a dancer on Princess Cruise Lines. After over 8 years of living overseas in Europe and the States, I returned to my childhood home on the beautiful Gold Coast, to complete a Commerce Accounting Degree at Bond University, with the aim of creating a knowledge base for opening my Olive Harvest business – the source & supply of organic and locally produced olive oils. This presented a new challenge and the opportunity to expand my skills in an area so vastly different from dance. My passion for movement and expression however could not be ignored, and I found myself attending Yoga classes to help with the pressures of study. It was at Essence of Living on the Gold Coast that I reignited my flame for movement and fell in love with the compassionate and kind nature of Yoga.
I believe life is so very precious, and having been so lucky to follow my dreams successfully in my first career, I decided to stay true to my nature and enrol in the Level 1 Yoga Teacher Trainer programme at Essence of Living. It has been here that many doors have opened, and I have found such steadiness and love in becoming a yoga teacher. Being able to now share my learning’s with others, to guide the practice of graceful, strong and connected asanas, in a community that is supportive, content and joyful – how lucky am I !
